Why do people lack the "Motivation" to better health? Let's take a look....

The greatest joy I get from my being a personal trainer is helping my client's achieve their fitness goal(s). I learned from many people over the years( including my own family) that motivation is a key component in our daily lives. We all need to be motivated in some form or fashion to get what we want or desire. But why is it so difficult sometimes to get ourselves motivated to achieve our fitness goals? Here are a few thoughts:

1. Media.......With the constant bombardment of commercials, advertisement and the latest quick fix to any problem, how can a person be convinced otherwise that patience, persistance and hard work are the true ingredients to better health.

2. Committment.....Are men the only ones who have an issue with this word? Think again. When it comes to making a full pledge effort to exercise and better nutrition there is no clear-cut winner....only a lack of committment on both sides.

3. Money.....Unfortunately, this plays a big role in our decision making.....but there are things you can do that do not cost anything. For example, running, jogging or even a fast pace walk can do wonders for your health. How about running up and down the steps in your home? Anyone in the mood for push-ups, jumping jacks or even sit ups? Where there is a will...there is a way. Do not let money stand in the way of your fitness goal(s).

That's all for now. Happy New Year to everyone!!!

Sincerely,

Eraldo Maglara NSCA-CPT
